Portugal’s Golden Visa Scheme & Portuguese Nationality

This is a special Portuguese visa programme designed to reward foreign investors from non-EU countries should they purchase Portuguese real estate or make a bank deposit or other investment up to a certain amount of money. Under this scheme non-EU citizens will receive a Portuguese residence permit hence being entitled to apply for full Portuguese citizenship.

As a significant number of Chinese nationals is already Portuguese or is entitled to Portugal allowing for dual citizenship by marriage or de facto union, adoption and naturalization.
